Two Penn Transit EV shuttles in front of Pennovation Works

Penn Transit’s Zero-Emission Fleet Grows

Penn Transit recently acquired two new zero-emission vans, expanding its fleet of shuttles that run solely on electric-charged batteries to eight.

These electric vehicles (EVs) operate quietly and are easily identifiable by the “zero emissions” and “100% Electric Power” markings featured on their design.

Penn Transit aligns with the transportation goals in Penn’s Climate and Sustainability Action Plan 4.0. In addition to maintaining a growing EV fleet, currently accounting for about 23% of all shuttles and buses, the department proactively reduces carbon emissions on campus by powering the rest of its vehicles with renewable bio-diesel fuel.
