Potential SEPTA Strike As of Thursday, November 14, SEPTA services are operating on normal schedules, as its workers' union negotiates a new contract. We continue to monitor the possibility of a SEPTA strike in the coming days, in which case contingency plans remain in place. Click here to view those contingency plans.

Penn's Commuter Benefit Program

Faculty, professional staff, and post-doctoral research fellows have direct access to an integrated network of regional transit systems which service Penn’s Philadelphia campus. The University's commuter benefits program is designed to accommodate a variety of travel needs and features discounted, pre-tax purchases of commuter passes and other transit products.

Participation in the Commuter Benefits program precludes eligibility from concurrent enrollment in certain other commuter offerings (i.e., an employee would not be eligible to participate in the Commuter Benefits program while also enrolled in the Bike Commuter Expense Reimbursement Program or holding Penn’s monthly Parking Permit.)

Monthly transit products available from Jawnt feature a 50% discount while the Commuter Card by Health Equity offers a 5% discount. Participants  may receive a maximum discount  $105 discount per employee per month across all commuter benefit platforms.
