Full-time benefits-eligible employees can receive up to $240 annually to defray eligible bike commuting expenses if they commute by bike greater than 50% of the time.

Register Your Bike with Penn Police

By registering your property, your registration sticker will serve as a visual deterrent and increase the chances of recovery should your bike ever be lost or stolen. Registration sticker(s) must be picked up at Division of Public Safety, 4040 Chestnut St.

Faculty and Staff: participants in the Bike Commuter Expense Reimbursement Program MUST register their bikes to receive the benefit.

Indego Bike Share

The Indego Bike Share program is an integrated system featuring over 600 self-service bicycles and 70 bike-share stations throughout Philadelphia. You can purchase a monthly pass or pay per trip. 

Penn has six stations on campus: 

  • 36th and Sansom Streets; 
  • 40th and Spruce Streets; 
  • 34th and Spruce; 
  • 34th and Chestnut; 
  • 3800 Spruce (Rosenthal Building);and 
  • Near the Penn Medicine Station Regional Rail Station.  

With Indego so close at hand, there is no need to bring your bike to campus!

Locker Rental

Commuting students, faculty and staff can rent lockers at Hutch or Pottruck Fitness Centers to store extra clothes and gear.

Student Helmet Reimbursement

The Penn Student Insurance Plan will reimburse up to $25 towards the purchase of a bike helmet. To obtain the reimbursement, complete the Aetna Claim Form.
