Indego365 Membership Discount

Full-time, benefits-eligible faculty, professional staff, and post-doctoral research fellows can now purchase an annual Indego365 Bike Share membership at a 20% discount. 

This special discount gives enrollees—including those already registered for a Penn Commuter Benefit (e.g., a parking permit or mass-transit product)—easy access to a sustainable mode of transportation, in alignment with the University's commitment to promoting sustainable commuting options.

Indego maintains 250+ bicycle stations throughout Philadelphia, including 6 on Penn’s campus. Membership allows participants to pick up a bicycle at any station and securely drop it off at another, enjoying the benefits of city cycling without the expense and upkeep bike ownership entails.

Penn Employee Indego365 Discount FAQ

Full-time, benefits-eligible faculty, staff, and post-doctoral researchers and fellows can sign up for the discounted annual Indego365 membership. 

Eligible employees receive a 20% discount (tax-inclusive) off the retail rate of membership.  

Yes, the discount is a special offer available to all commuter benefits-eligible employees, including those already registered for a Penn Parking permit or Commuter Services mass-transit pass. 

 

The Indego membership is paid through a one-time, post-tax payroll deduction. This differs from a Parking permit or other commuter benefit, which are paid monthly through pretax payroll deduction in accordance to the employee's payroll cycle. 

 

Participants will receive a discount code to redeem on Indego’s website, where they must set up a registered account with a valid debit or credit card, as required per Indego’s terms and conditions.

 

In alignment with IRS guidelines, the special Indego discount is post-tax.

You can sign up for an Indego membership at any time. Employees who register by the 19th of a given month will receive their pass on the 1st day of the following month. For example: An employee who enrolls by April 19 will be able to redeem their Indego membership on May 1.

 

Go to the consumer-benefits registration page, click enroll in the "Indego365 Membership" option box, and follow instructions from there.

 

There are six Indego stations on campus:

  • 36th and Sansom Streets
  • 40th and Spruce Streets
  • 34th and Spruce Streets
  • 34th and Chestnut Streets
  • 3800 Spruce Street (Rosenthal Building)
  • Near the Penn Medicine Regional Rail Station

According to IRS rules, bike-share membership fees are not eligible for reimbursement. However, if you will be commuting by bicycle more than 50% of the time, you may use the Bike Commuter Reimbursement Program to get reimbursed for the purchase of allowable bike accessories (like helmets, bike locks, and bike safety equipment).

At this time, the special discount applies only to the yearlong Indego365 pass. 

Indego365 passholders get unlimited 60-minute rides on any classic bike. Upon registration, enrollees will receive information about surcharges for e-bike use and classic rides exceeding the hour-at-a-time limit, according to Indego’s Terms and Conditions.
