Potential SEPTA Strike As of Thursday, November 14, SEPTA services are operating on normal schedules, as its workers' union negotiates a new contract. The University offers a wide array of sustainable commuter options.  They are designed to accommodate a variety of circumstances and include discounted, pre-tax purchases of passes that can be used for the robust network of transit systems serving Penn’s campus.

Penn's Sustainable Transportation Initiative

Penn’s focus is on reducing single-occupancy vehicles through providing discounts for commuters who use public transportation, support for cyclists and operating its own transit network complete with electric vehicles.   

The Association of Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) recognized Penn's transport sustainability success as a top performer in the 2021 Sustainable Campus Index, ranking 5th in transportation.
